Bison United were commissioned by long term rail industry partners Yarra Trams, Public Transport Victoria (PTV) and VicRoads to document the major infrastructure upgrade of Route 96, a 14km-long tram route on the Melbourne’s tram network between Blyth Street, Brunswick East and Acland Street, St Kilda Beach in Victoria. The route was upgraded with an aim to meet the growing demand, and improve reliability and efficiency of Melbourne’s tram network, the world’s biggest tram network. Multiple timelapse cameras, drone and onsite video and photography yielded stunning footage of the construction and upgrade of the terminus stops, and existing narrow road widening to six lanes. Working closely with our client, Bison planned extensive visual documentation of night works with outstanding results.

Following from the success of South East Project Alliance (SEPA) Toorak Road Level Crossing Removing Project, Bison United were appointed to document Manchester Road & Maroondah Highway (M&M) with rail bridges and a new multi-deck car park built to remedy clogged streets and risks to more than 53,000 drivers who use the crossings each day. Partnering with SEPA and head contractor Laing O’Rourke on this major construction project was a challenge given the large scale and multitude of media requirements, both internal and at Government levels. 6 timelapse cameras operating 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, several drone, video and photography shoots per month documented new elevated stations built at Lilydale and Mooroolbark as part of this major construction project. Footage was used extensively for Ministerial events, news broadcasts and community information and social updates. An incredible project to document and the largest of it’s kind for the Victorian Government's Big Build.

The Learning and Teaching Building is the product of years of research and design thinking, and harnesses the expertise of multi-award winning design studio John Wardle Architects. Bison United were privileged to work with Multiplex on this major construction project and world-class learning environment. The building which accommodates thousands of students each semester is the home of advanced learning and teaching practice across Monash University. Multiple timelapse cameras used for project documentation and remote site monitoring were essential in the program management for both Monash University and Multiplex.
